Volunteer Opportunities
The work of CFP Board benefits greatly from the contributions of CFP® professionals and other stakeholders. There are many opportunities to become involved with CFP Board in meaningful and rewarding ways.
Become a Volunteer
There are a variety of ways volunteers support CFP Board's work, including leadership and governance roles, exam development activities, service on disciplinary hearing panels and more.
Become a Mentor
The CFP Board Mentor Program connects aspiring candidates for CFP® certification with current CFP® professionals who can share their knowledge and experience of passing the CFP® exam.
Become a Scholarship Review Panel Volunteer
Our scholarship programs provide important financial assistance to qualified candidates as they pursue the education requirement for CFP® certification. These programs are key to advancing a more diverse and sustainable financial planning profession, and we would very much appreciate your involvement.
Become an Exam DEVELOPMENT Volunteer
Exam development volunteers work with test development experts and other CFP® professionals to create and review new exam content. CFP Board works with volunteers of all levels of experience to develop new content for the CFP® exam.
Provide Pro Bono Financial Planning
Pro bono financial planning provides critical services to underserved and at-risk Americans. As a highly qualified CFP® professional and pro bono volunteer, you can help people take control of their financial lives and have a positive impact on individuals, families and communities.
You may also be able to make progress toward your CFP® certification requirements. Pro bono volunteer hours may count toward the Experience requirement for initial CFP® certification. CFP Board recognizes this important community service and awards pro bono volunteers with digital badges based on hours of service.
