This workforce development guide helps firms with recruitment, onboarding, training, career development and retention. It also helps firms structure and effectively communicate paths on the financial planner career ladder.
CFP Board Career Center
The Career Center connects financial services firms with CFP® professionals, as well as candidates currently in the certification process. In addition to job and internship listings, the Career Center provides helpful resources for both job seekers and employers.
Scholarships
The Center administers scholarship programs to enable qualified individuals to complete the education requirement for attaining CFP® certification.

In addition to raising awareness of financial planning careers among underrepresented populations, the Center seeks to effect systemic change across recruiting, training and retention practices to foster a more diverse workforce that reflects the changing demographics of wealth in the U.S.

The "I am a CFP® Pro" campaign is attracting young, diverse talent into the profession by highlighting the many benefits of a career in financial planning and dispelling common misperceptions.
Diversity Summits
The Center's Diversity Summits are highlighting actionable solutions to advance racial diversity in financial planning through research, case studies and best practices.
Diversity Research and Reports
The Center releases comprehensive research to identify the barriers to racial and gender diversity in the financial planning profession and outline recommendations for making the profession more attractive to diverse candidates.

The CFP Board Mentor Program connects individuals pursuing CFP® certification with current CFP® professionals for guidance and support as they navigate their path to certification.
WIN Advocates
WIN Advocates are CFP® professionals who are volunteering to help attract more women to the profession by raising awareness in their communities of financial planning as a rewarding career opportunity for women.

Academic Research Colloquium
The annual Colloquium brings together academics, researchers and students to share and showcase the latest financial planning research.
Financial planning for Young Adults
Financial Planning for Young Adults (FPYA), developed in partnership with the University of Illinois, is designed to provide an introduction to basic financial planning concepts for young adults. The FPYA course is organized across eight separate modules within a 4-week window. Topics covered include financial goal setting, saving and investing, budgeting, financial risk, borrowing and credit.
