CFP Board must receive an official electronic transcript showing conferral of a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Electronic Transcripts
Sending your official transcript to CFP Board through your school's electronic transcript delivery service is the quickest and most reliable way to satisfy the bachelor's degree requirement.
Electronic transcripts should be issued from the school directly to: [email protected]
Electronic transcripts that have been released to the student and forwarded to CFP Board will not be accepted as official.
Mailed Transcripts
Effective March 31, 2020, CFP Board will no longer accept paper transcript submissions. Official transcripts sent by mail prior to March 31, 2020 will be accepted. If an official electronic transcript option is not available from your school, please contact us at [email protected] for assistance.
Transcripts that have been opened, scanned, or faxed by the candidate and forwarded to CFP Board will not be accepted as official.
Multiple Degrees
Candidates who hold multiple degrees only need to send one qualifying transcript to CFP Board.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENSION
If you have not reported completion of a bachelor's degree or higher within five years of passing the exam, you may submit a Policy Exception Request Form for a one-time extension of up to three years. The Policy Exception Request must be received at least 60 days in advance of the five-year deadline. Please allow 7-10 business days for a response to the request.
