Many Americans to Include Debt Reduction in Their New Year’s Resolutions

CFP Board's latest research, “Debt and New Year’s Resolutions Report,” reveals that while 97% of Americans have financial goals for 2025, many are hindered by debt-related challenges. Top priorities include debt reduction (42%), saving for major purchases (21%) and retirement planning (14%), with nearly 90% citing obstacles such as high debt and insufficient resources.
